Time: 1 min · Difficulty: Easy · 4 steps

What you need

Steps

  1. Cross and tuck

Two shoelaces crossing into an X above the shoe

Make an X with the laces, tuck one under the other, then pull both ends tight.

Tip: this is the starter knot

  2. Make a loop

Fingers pinching one lace into a loop

Fold one lace into a loop, like a bunny ear, and pinch it at the bottom.

Tip: pinch it, don’t let go

  3. Wrap the other lace around

The second lace wrapping around the first loop

Take the other lace and wrap it once around the loop, going around the front.

Tip: around the front, then behind

  4. Pull through and tighten

A finished bow with two loops being pulled tight

Push the wrapped lace through the little hole to make a second loop. Pull both loops outward.

Tip: two bunny ears = done
